Michael Germann
[email protected]
Mr. Germann is a brain injury survivor and
photographer. “I am a 38 Year old male that has sustained brain injury due to
toxins from which I was Exposed to on the Job. I was told by the medical professional
that I would never be able to go back to work again at any real job due to mood swings
and not being able to remember things. I have turned to doing art and photography
as a way to deal with this. I have found art and photography give some important
to me in life again. When all else seems to have left. It helps me to express my
self in a safe and visual sense that I enjoy. I am always very happy to hear from
others that enjoy my work and there opinions.”

THE REMINDER
Phases of Recovery
“This is symbolic to me of how one moves forward after an injury. The buds in
the back ground represent all that one must leave behind. So that one can move forward.
Even when one finaly leaves all behind we must achknolege our Linitation and be prepared
to countinuely deal with the reality put on us by society.”

Gerry Giliberti
[email protected]
“I am a survivor of alopecia totalis.
It is a quiet yet life-altering affection that changes the way the world perceives
you. My photographs reflect my search to find how the physical world perceives itself.”
Gerry Giliberti is a photographic artist who uses graphics, photography and digital
imagery to create abstract, surrealistic images that bring the viewer into a new
visual world. Having pursued a classical bachelor of fine arts education including
photography, oil and watercolor painting, illustration, etching, silk-screening and
various printmaking techniques, including archival photographic processing techniques,
Giliberti laid the foundation for his unique ability to see simple images among complex
textures.
“My intent is to create a mythic dreamscape that explores the balance between
the spiritual and the abstract. The artistic result is that reality looks somewhat
unreal and traces of humanity are felt by the evocation of ancient memories. The
use of multiple media allows me the flexibility to capture and convey the mystery
of light in the exploration of new artistic areas that help redefine the preconceived
notions of what photographic art really is.”
